Senior Graphics Engineer

About this role

Our client is a fast growing startup looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer to optimize our current features and develop new functionality. You will communicate directly with the CTO and lead Graphics engineers about important technical strategies and decisions. This is a long term position with a lot of room for growth as the company scales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

» Research, prototype, and adapt solutions to our most challenging technical problems
» Architect clean, extensible software components and systems with open standards and portability
» Optimize data and algorithms for speed, memory, storage, and latency
» Collaborate closely with engineering team, as well as art and business teams
» Participate in product meetings and daily stand ups
» Must be willing and able to communicate with the team via webcam, webconf, and phone
» Develop new shaders and recommend existing alternative solutions
» Build 3D environment shaders and 3D model material shaders by combining existing solutions and writing new code
» Optimize performance and latency of cloud render workflows & pipelines.
» Enhance 3D realism through PBR material & lighting innovations.
» Collaborate closely with graphics, vision & platform teams to deliver 3D innovations.
» Improve our rendering engine in terms of performance, stability, and software architecture Research and push the state-of-the-art in virtual world rendering for photo-realistic and data visualization purposes
» Apply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation, modularization, simplification
» Stay up-to-date with real-time rendering techniques and evaluate disruptive technologies for web-based 3D rendering engines
» Write high-quality, well-designed, testable code within the timelines you help estimate time.

LOCATION: We are headquartered in San Francisco and are remote-friendly.

Team works and operates on (EST) business hours.
