Job Description
Senior Director Survey Statistics & Methodology
Interested candidates must contact S Krishnan at whatsapp Contact146
We are supporting a senior leadership role in survey statistics based in Bangalore, focused on sampling design, weighting, and research methodology for large-scale international surveys.
This role is not data science or biostatistics. Instead, it centers on ensuring that how data is collected is statistically sound, representative, and globally comparable across countries, cultures, and survey modes (face-to-face, phone, and web).
The role combines deep statistical expertise with hands, on execution and leadership. The individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, methodological rigor, and quality assurance for global research programs that inform high-impact insights on critical global issues.
What Youll Do
Design representative probability samples for face-to-face, phone, and web surveys
Develop, evaluate, and analyze sampling frames across diverse international contexts
Lead and oversee weighting strategies, including adjustments for unequal selection probabilities, nonresponse, and post-stratification
Establish and enforce rigorous QA/QC protocols for sampling and weighting work
Monitor sample progress during fieldwork and troubleshoot issues in real time
Provide technical support for probability panel development, especially in low- and middle-income countries
Analyze survey data using statistical software such as R or Python
	Document methodologies clearly and comprehensively
Advise project leaders, methodologists, and survey teams on sampling, weighting, and analysis decisions
Supervise and mentor a small, India-based technical team
Who Were Looking For
Detail-oriented statisticians who uphold exceptionally high scientific standards
Experts in survey methodology who enjoy working with complex, real-world data
Strategic thinkers who connect statistical rigor with research objectives
Proactive problem-solvers who anticipate challenges and design robust solutions
Collaborative leaders who coach others and promote best practices in survey research
Professionals who thrive in fast-paced, multi-project environments
What You Need
Masters degree required; Ph.D. preferred (statistics, survey methodology, or related field)
7+ years of experience in survey sampling and weighting
Strong proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis
Eligibility to work in India (this role does not offer visa sponsorship)
Willingness to work on-site in Bangalore at least three days per week
