All Applicants must be either UK citizens or have lived in the UK for 5 years because Security Clearance eligibility is an essential requirement.
Must-haves sold performances test training and hands-on exp ability to work with end-users at various levels large scale deployments training and qualifications that are relevant to the role
Tools: Neoload, JMeter, and ability and flexibility to work with or recommend other test tools depending on projects specific needs
Job purpose
The purpose of this role is the delivery of specialist performance and other non-functional testing services to clients
Main tasks and responsibilities are likely to include:
Delivering performance testing services for client projects
This can range from setting up performance test strategies and tools for specific client projects, to testing in-house developed applications, through to conducting evaluations of third party suppliers performance testing capabilities
Delivering other non-functional testing services for client projects, such as load/stress/volume testing
Evaluation of current performance test environments and tools used by clients, then implementing changes where improvements are needed
Providing performance/non-functional engineering advisory services to client projects during the requirements capture or design stages
The work is expected to be technically complex and requires well-established hands-on specialist skills. Preferred tools are Neoload and JMeter. Other open-source or proprietary tools may be used; therefore, technical flexibility and versatility are key to this role
Knowledge, skills, and experience
Proven experience in delivering performance and another non-functional testing for large scale complex projects as well as mobile applications
Proven experience working in Agile environments is essential
Experience of open source performance test tools
Of particular interest will also be experienced working with data warehousing systems and/or GIS systems
The role is for a highly technical specialist who is capable of working independently to deliver a professional and high-quality service
Person specification
Qualifications essential
Formal relevant technical qualifications, accreditation, and training, e.g. ISTQB
Neoload certification, or alternatively other well-established performance testing tools certification may be suitable
Qualifications desirable:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
Knowledge essential:
Performance testing using Neoload and JMeter
Open source test tools
Agile methodology
Test automation
Specific experience/skills:
At least two of the following:
Performance testing of Cloud applications
Performance testing of mobile applications
Performance testing of web portals
Performance testing of data warehousing/big data
Technical skills should only be mentioned on a CV if in-depth and hands-on and if the candidate is willing to undergo tests to demonstrate his/her skills
