Network Engineer - Cisco ASR9K Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco ASR9K routers in the network infrastructure.
- Design and implement network topologies using vPC for redundancy and high availability.
- Implement and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols such as IS-IS and BGP for efficient and scale-able routing.
- Manage network devices using SNMP, Syslog, and other network management protocols.
- Set up and maintain accurate time synchronization using PTP and NTP.
- Administer DNS and DHCP services to ensure proper IP address assignment and name resolution.

Skills:
- Strong experience with Cisco ASR9K series routers and related components.
- In-depth knowledge of vPC configuration and best practices for network redundancy.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IS-IS and BGP routing protocols.
- Familiarity with network management protocols, including SNMP, Syslog, PTP, NTP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Expertise in traffic management mechanisms such as queuing, policing, shaping, and WRED.
- Experience with multicast protocols like PIM, IGMP, RP, and BSR for efficient data distribution.
- Knowledge of layer 3 security features, including CoPP, ACLs, DAI, and IP source guard to protect the network infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and other networking protocols.
- Cisco certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE would be a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications:
- Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 8+ years related experience.
- CCIE or equivalent related certification preferred.
- Cisco DevNet certification preferred.
- CISSP, Security+ or equivalent an asset.
- Has moderate to advance knowledge of software program-ability, automation, orchestration, virtualisation and/or security.
- Client facing experience and the ability to be onsite 3-4 days/week at the customer location.
