Man on Site (MOS) Mining, Northern Cape
Our client, a leading underground mining concern, is seeking an experienced Man on Site (MOS) who specializes in various OEM fleets. The ideal candidate will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in underground mining equipment and will be responsible for supporting product improvement initiatives based on their extensive field experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert support and technical guidance on CAT, Epiroc, AARD, and Sandvik fleets.
Recommend and initiate improvements based on site conditions and experiences.
Collaborate effectively with management and teams across all levels.
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of mining equipment.
Conduct detailed planning and forecasting for workload, parts, and technical requirements.
Oversee and implement Life Cycle Management (LCM) strategies for all relevant products.
Diagnose and solve complex issues through analytical thinking and fault-finding methodologies.
Prepare and present project plans and technical reports as required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Minimum of 10 years of product knowledge and experience as a MOS.
Proven management skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all organizational levels.
Deep understanding of product capabilities across various OEM fleets.
Excellent planning and forecasting skills related to workload and technical requirements.
Comprehensive understanding of product-related LCM processes.
Strong engineering expertise in auto electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
Possession of a qualified Red Seal Artisan certification.
Experience as a Foreman or General Engineering Supervisor (GES).
Ability to manage project planning and create effective reporting documentation.
Qualifications
Grade 12, N6 or relevant engineering qualification
Red Seal Artisan qualification.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role within the underground mining sector.
Experience with OEM equipment: Cat, Epiroc, AARD, and Sandvik.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
