Lead Node.JS Developer (Backend)

Job Description

THIS IS A 100% REMOTE ROLE! OPEN TO US CITIZEN AND GREEN CARD HOLDERS

Key is Node backend lead, working with offshore teams. Strong in Asynchronous programming with JavaScript in Nodejs and strong PostreSQL or SQL with ability to write and intrepret complex querries. Not DBA or Admin level but just below that. They will be doing alot in PostgreSQL.

We are seeking a motivated node.js lead developer with experience building API platforms and working with development partners. The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked as a Node.js Developer leading a team, is capable of solving any problem that comes their way, along with writing technical specs for other developers, and overseeing code quality and standards. You will be working alongside the CTO and development partners to always move the ball forward, both in innovation as well as delivery and maintenance.

Develop high-performance applications by writing efficient, testable and reusable code
Expertise in JavaScript-based web technologies, expert in Node.js whether its callbacks, promise-based or async/await
Comfortable working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL with ability to write and interpret queries in the database
Experience working with Redis and RabbitMQ
Expertise working with servers, from command line to server setups, assist through deployment process
Building technical specs for solutions and supporting the implementation through code reviews and oversight as needed - supporting other developers to reach the goal of the project
Availability to resolve urgent application issues outside of business hours - ownership of your product
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail to be able to spot the potential cases that most people wont see
A multi-tasker capable of prioritizing and managing your time and multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Nice to have:
DevOps Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
Knowledge of AWS Stack, experience designing solutions leveraging AWS
Experience with Ruby
Experience with front-end technologies to understand the front-end requirements

Location:
Remote position (EST or CST time zone preferred due to Europe/Asia clients/teams)

Must Haves:
Lead/Architect Level NodeJS, JavaScript, and ProgresSQL skills on the backend
Can create and interpret queries in the ProgresSQL DB. Not a DBA but knows the ins and outs of ProgresSQL
Redis or RabbitMQ knowledge
Front end experience as well, this will be mostly backend but there is some frontend work to do.
Exp. leading a team

Nice to Haves:
AWS experience, Kubernetes knowledge
Ruby, PHP
REACT or REACT Native experience
Experience leading offshore teams
Microservices experience
