IT Systems Administrator

Job Description

The Systems Administrator has daily blend of tasks and project activities spanning design, architecture, implementation review and ongoing operations and management of elements of Server, Storage, Virtualization, Exchange Email, Database, Operating Systems and other platform related software technologies in Accelerate Diagnostics. This position aids in daily monitoring and support administration for ensuring the healthy status, availability of IT Systems, Infrastructure and Operations for all on-premise and support for cloud-based programs & applications. The Systems Administrator partners with other IT staff to plan, schedule and implement activities to resolve hardware and software issues/problems in a timely and accurate manner, minimizing impact to end-users and help charter roadmap/strategies in the uplift of needed technologies to next-generation and expected future needs.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, energetic & motivated professional with strong knowledge and expertise in Systems, Storage, Virtualization, High Performance Computers, Backups/Recovery & Networking. This candidate has a passion for technology and eager to work with team members (within and across departments) in developing & implementing solutions that support business objectives while providing assessments for continuous improvements to Management.

Formal Education / Relevant Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology or related field; additional related work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum 4 years of Systems Admin experience; desired IT career experience with progressively increasing responsibilities (Tech Support/Client Support to Systems Engineer or Jr. Systems Admin roles)
Experience with Microsoft Windows & Linux OS technologies
Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Hyper-V and VMWare ESX technologies, enterprise-class SAN/NAS storage platform (including experience in FC, FCoE, iSCSI)
Microsoft/VMWare/Storage or other IT related Certification (preferred)
Experience in Routing and Switching (1Gb/10Gb/100Gb), VOIP/IP Telephony, Firewall Maintenance, Network and System Monitoring, LAN/WAN, internet and MPLS management, VPN, IPSec tunnels, Wireless solutions
Experience with enterprise-class, High Speed SAN/NAS storage platforms with FC, FCoE, iSCSI protocols
Experience with HPC batch processing environments, massively parallel file systems (BeeGFS), Supermicro, GPU servers, NextGen end-to-end autonomous capable machines at scale (NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier, etc)
