HJF is seeking a Finance Analyst II to support the Austere Environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO) program located at the HJF Home Office in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to ACESO. This position is remote during COVID-19 and will reengage to a hybrid work environment (telework/on-site).

ACESO is implementing clinical research programs internationally and requires a candidate who will be responsible for providing financial support to ensure effective use of funds. Specific areas include: budget tracking, monthly financial cost reconciliations, and sub-agreements expenditure tracking. Works on problems of moderate scope and exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

Provides consolidated, accurate, and reliable financial information to enable decision-making.
Reviews sub-agreement invoices to ensure proper use and availability of funds. Tracks monthly expenditures in existing budget reconciliation templates or creates new templates as needed. Tracks payment and works with HQ Accounting to resolve any issues.
Assists with contract actions, to include developing and reviewing budgets, entering finance requisitions and provides weekly updates.
Reconciles monthly financial expenses and prepares ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
Assists with the development and formulation of budget requests.
Assists with proposals, to include developing budgets and budget justifications.
Fosters and builds cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as needed to accomplish the programs mission.
Protects sensitive financial information to ensure it is not disseminated.
Performs other duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient using MS Excel and using complex formulas.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Understanding of accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to influence action from groups or individuals not in direct chain of command.
Ability to work in a fast pace environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and tools.
Ability to occasionally work outside regular business hours.
Organize and maintain travel program files.
Updates Travel Trackers and tracks pending actions.
Follows-up with HJF HQ and travels on overdue travel reconciliations.
Reviews backup documentation and prepares travel reconciliation packages for manager approval.
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree required for this position.

Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: Minimum of 0-2 years of experience required for this position.

Travel Requirements: This position will be based in Bethesda, MD; however, incumbent will be required to meet with partners, sponsors, and/or attend local conferences/training events within a 50-miles radius of Bethesda, MD. Any travel over 50-miles will be reimbursed by the program.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Incumbent will report to the ACESO Senior Financial Analyst.

Work Environment: This position is remote at this time but will shift to a hybrid work environment potentially early 2022.
