1. Job description
The company is a Round-D $5.5B US-based unicorn doing payroll and compliance for remote workers and companies.
As a Director of Engineering you will:
Build multi-functional distributed teams that own our products from top to bottom
Own product discovery and product delivery cycles that build our system
Work with engineers and non-engineers across the company to develop and iterate at scale
Lead several teams with 5-10 developers in each of them
2. Requirements
Must-have:
Enjoy high pace development environment
Have 8+ years of commercial experience and have managed several teams with 5-10 Engineers in each.
Have excellent Javascript knowledge in frontend libraries such as React, JavaScript syntax, and frontend essentials such as HTML.
Are highly proficient with Node and ORM tools such as Sequelize.
Are experienced with AWS services such as EKS and Kubernetes, S3, and Lambda functions.
Have strong experience working with relational and document-based database technologies, mainly PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Deeply understands designing, writing, running, maintaining, and debugging applications across the whole stack in one or more of the technologies listed above.
Have a business-driven approach to software development and are focused on the outcomes rather than outputs.
Have attention to detail, and always place yourself in your customers place.
Have good conversational and written English.
Nice-to-have:
Have experience with a 24/7 SaaS product running on a significant vendor cloud.
Have experience with Kubernetes application architecture on AWS.
Are experienced working in distributed teams and work environments.
Know the Fintech space.
