Digital Security Engineer - Hybrid

About The Role:

The Digital Workplace Security Engineer reports to the Head of Function for Network and Security and is responsible for designing, leading, implementing, and driving the transformation of Client's digital workplace. They must have extensive knowledge and experience in various technologies and tools, including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Endpoint security solutions.

The candidate should have a progressive mindset, Agile experience, and be able to drive the adoption of emerging security capabilities. They will be responsible for designing and implementing the security strategy, sharing knowledge, mentoring and developing junior engineers, and working with stakeholders across the business to understand their technology requirements.

This role requires strong technical and hands-on skills, as well as the ability to engage with stakeholders and key suppliers to redefine Client's digital workplace platform services. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with effective communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. They should also have a passion for automation and delivering change as code, and be focused on delivering a secure and seamless experience for Pearson end-users.

Responsibilities:

Lead engineering designs to meet Client's security objectives
Offer security guidance and support to ensure projects include necessary security controls
Develop medium-term and long-term engineering strategies and designs for Client's Digital Workplace Services Team
Collaborate with stakeholders to plan for Client's digital workplace future
Manage project delivery, ensuring objectives for quality, budget, and time management are met
Design and innovate processes, standardization, and governance practices
Identify areas for improvement in the IT landscape and engineer solutions to enhance security
Drive innovation through implementing and improving automated deployment approaches
Continuously learn through attending training and industry events
May require infrequent UK and international travel
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field
At least 5 years of experience in information security
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Endpoint security solutions (E5)
Experience with data centric controls (AIP, OME, B2B, and B2C)
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Defender Security Product Suite, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Identity, and Sentinel
Knowledge of endpoint security and device hardening (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, MEM/Intune & JAMF)
Engineering experience with Azure Active Directory and modern authentication
Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 products (Office365, SharePoint, EM+S)
Coding and scripting skills (PowerShell or Python)
Experience with Azure DevOps service
Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills
Positive attitude and passion for modern management, security controls, and customer service
Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
Passion for automation and delivering change as code
