Azure Cloud Engineer
Serves as a member of the Cloud Migration Engineering Team for the US Army Human Resources Command (HRC). The candidate will be a member of the team migrating applications to a cloud environment in order to meet the business requirements in support of the Armys force manning requirements, ensuring applications are functional, secure, and defect-free.
This is a remote position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, implementation, deployment, installation, provisioning, troubleshooting, documenting, reporting, and oversight for application migration and modernization within complex cloud infrastructure and related cloud services.
- Directs cloud design and implements configurations to meet program and customer needs.
- Provides ongoing support of complex cloud storage and back-up infrastructure. Develops, implements and oversees policies and procedures to ensure consistent cloud environment provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance and data protection.
- Evaluates and analyzes complex systems, performance, issues, and metrics in order to provide recommendations for service improvements.
- Leads the creation and maintenance of backup and/or storage related standards, policies, processes, system documentation and disaster recovery plans relating to complex cloud environments.
- Documents processes and educates customers to adopt cloud migration methodologies, and to maintain existing cloud resources
- May provide work leadership to lower level employees.
Qualifications - Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or a Masters degree in a related discipline. Four (4) years related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
Minimum 8+ years of experience with 4 years of experience with cloud technologies
A Cloud Security Certification (MS Azure Security Engineer, CompTIA Cloud+, CCSK, CCSP, etc)
U.S. Citizen
Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance
Ability to work independently and in a team environment at a fast pace with multiple deadlines
Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
Qualifications - Desired:
Security Operations (SecOps) experience
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience
Azure Resource Management (ARM) template experience
Azure Well-Architected Framework Principles experience
Knowledge of Army human resources data and processes
