I've heard it's way better than at AMZN but recently heard a few scary stories as well.. any insiders here?

Yes, it really depends on the org. I also heard that Shield (oncall) in Azure is a nightmare ..

It really depends on which org you are in. Office (OXO) / Windows are fine, but a lot of legacy tooling and tech. Azure is somewhat worse in average, but also depends. Bing is the worst, stay away. Hope this helps.
