Summary

I am an experienced and versatile system software engineer who has recently worked on deep learning video analytics.

I have been operating as an architect for over the past 5 years, owning the high level design for system software and microservice projects. I apply object oriented principles to ensure well understood and consistent design patterns are used in my deliverables. As architect it is my responsibility to review solution level architecture with other ingredient contributors, both internal and external, so have developed sound communication and collaboration skills to ensure that my deliverables contribute to delighting the customer.

I have also been a technical lead for over 10 years, leading agile projects for over 5 of those. The role includes identifying, planning, prioritizing and co-ordinating (as well as executing) development tasks. An important part of this role is code review. By ensuring use of OOD principles and patterns I take opinion out of what can sometimes be a difficult discussion. I also use this as an opportunity to mentor junior developers.

I am particularly adept at agile development, creating epics based on product roadmap then decomposing those into stories. I am passionate about maintaining a groomed and prioritized backlog so that either scrum or kanban methodologies can be followed.

Most recently I have been working on containerized deployment of AI pipelines as a service. Pipelines included media processing, deep learning models running on the OpenVino toolkit and computer vision algorithms. Previously I designed a sensor processing framework that chained together machine learning algorithms such as GMM, HMM, Bayesian classifiers to realize contextual cues such as physical activity, hand gestures and ambient audio.

I have deep experience developing in Python, C#, C++, Java and C on Linux, Windows and Android. I also have expertise in Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
