Ive always been a highly creative person and interested in technology, new innovations that make people's lives better. Ive loved everything about UX design, without knowing what it was at that time. However, I didnt see a direct way to combine my passion for creativity and technology, so I chose one and became a fashion designer. Ive been working successfully as a fashion designer, project and production manager in a marketing agency back in Lithuania. I enjoyed a creative, high paced, diverse work environment.
However, I started to see the marketing industry limiting and I was searching for more sustainable things. During that time I discovered photography and passion for travel and adventures. After coming to the US without a clear plan in my head I accidentally found myself working in the transportation industry, which wasnt rewarding emotionally.
My biggest transformation was after moving to Denver, where I dived into learning. I learned a lot about agile practices, got a professional scrum master certificate, and then discovered UX design, which eventually brought me to try coding events. And the spark I was missing ignited. I finally connected the dots in my non-linear career and realized that the tech industry is the one where I see myself, where I could use my creative, intuitive problem-solving skills and keep learning every day without getting bored. Im a current front-end student at Turing School of Software & Design and looking forward to starting my career as a professional software developer.
